At its regularly scheduled March 25, 2015 meeting, the Commission will consider a proposed amendment to the Agricultural Preservation Policy.  Comments are currently being requested and the draft language can be reviewed here.


Sphere of Influence Maps for each of the County's 9 cities and all 74 special districts are now available for viewing/download here.


On September 26, 2012, the Commission adopted an Agricultural Preservation Policy.  The final Policy can be downloaded in PDF format here.

Welcome to Stanislaus LAFCO

Stanislaus LAFCO is responsible for coordinating logical and timely changes in local governmental boundaries, adopting Spheres of Influence for each city and special district within the county, and preparing Municipal Service Reviews for agencies within its purview. The Commission's efforts are directed at seeing that services are provided efficiently and economically while protecting agricultural and open-space lands. LAFCO is an independent agency and functions in accordance with Government Code Section 56000 et seq.
